Song Review: Lorraine Tan 陳莉芯: 愛永遠不會少

Its 20.02.2011 TODAY! I still remember on 20.02.2002, Mrs Fernandez actually wrote on the whiteboard during music lesson that today is probably the only day in our life that no matter how you switch the numbers around, it will still be the same date. It's quite true because the next time something like this happens, it will be on 30.03.3003, which is a thousand years later. All of us will definitely be in the ground somewhere. So on this rather special day, I am back with a post on a song that i recently heard.

陳莉芯 Lorraine Tan - [愛永遠不會少]

I met Kimmie on friday afternoon. We ate like a SUPER FULL Lunch cum Dinner at Sakae Sushi. we ate 14 plates of sushi. Really eat until want to vomit! But we had a good talk about many things.

She told me this singer, Lorraine Tan was actually her teacher last time. I didnt believe at first but gosh, she was really a music teacher and she retired at 30 years old cause her husband is really very rich. The husband actually gave her money to release an album!

But, putting aside this shocking fact, i think this song is fantastic! I keep listening it to it. I think it has really great meaning inside it. Oh and in her whole album, all the songs are written by herself, except for two of the songs which the lyrics is written by Singapore Mediacorp famous songwriter Zhang LeSheng. Other than that, every song in her album are originals writtern by herself.

Although i have only heard two of her songs, i think she has some prospects in this sector. Only thing is that she shouldn't try and look young by cutting bangs and dying her hair brown. It actually has the opposite effect where people will feel that she is acting cute. I still believe natural beauty is the most amazing. Other than that, she can sing pretty well.

But, i would say if she really want to make a name for herself in this industry, she must really find her own style. Romantic ballads like these are quite common nowadays. The recent One million Star 6 champion, Hu Xia can also bring out ballads very well. His album has a total of 10 songs and nearly all of them are ballads. Listening to a whole album of ballads can make people feel tired of listening to it after a few songs. To differentiate herself, she really needs to find a stronger style of songs. Perhaps, Jazz of RnB might be a good choice.

So that's about it, i really feel this song is very soothing and makes people want to replay it. Enjoy it.
