I was at Jovian's 21st Birthday Party last friday and he got his cake from Temptations Cakes. Therefore, thought I'll do a short review on the cake shop.
About Temptations Cakes
The legacy homegrown cake shop Temptations traces its roots to 1985 when its founders identified a niche in the quality and availability of gourmet cakes in Singapore at the time. In they stepped to fill the niche and success came fast as its signature etoile cake, amongst other delicious offerings, won the hearts of many foodies, dessert lovers and those who enjoy the finer things in life.
Temptations has been reborn in 2010 - on its 25th anniversary - with the generation of its founding partner breathing new life into the familiar brand that many of us remember fondly. With a dynamic new management team at the helm, Temptations continues to be guided by one of its original founders - skillfully bridging the old and the new so that the company is now perfectly poised to reclaim its premier positioning amongst cake connoisseurs while preserving the cherished memories of yesteryeat that made Temptations' cakes so unique and well-loved.
This was Jovian's cake, specially customized for him with a soccer theme. The cake was chocolate-flavored and it tasted not too strong, if you're not an avid chocolate fan.
Temptations have got other cakes as well. One of which, I found really interesting was Samantha's birthday cake.
Samantha had her birthday cake customized from Temptations as well: To the theme of Hello Kitty. One would probably expect little of the cake since we were commenting on how it looked like Hello Kitty was bleeding when the icing melted.
however, to our surprise, the inner layer of the cake was a multi colored sponge cake! It takes quite some skill to actually do multi color coating so I must really applaud the chef!
So here's a picture of me with the cake which tasted really good. I am not a chocolate lover and usually, I'd end up with fruit cakes. BUT, with Temptations, I think I can have a greater variety of cakes in future!
Other than birthday cakes, they do sell individual slices of cakes at their stores too. I've tried their carrot cake and thought it was pretty good. The price isn't too expensive as well. Not forgetting bread ad cupcakes!
