results of 2013 resolutions

It's 31st December 2013!

One year flew by really fast... Time to match my results to my resolutions and see what have I achieved.

Let's see...

1) Pull CAP up to 3.8- 3.9
Hmm didnt meet this one so it's probably time to work harder the next 3 semesters!

2) Apply and get in NOC
applied but didn't get in. try again next year!

3) Learn a 3rd language
YES ACHIEVED!
took LAJ1201 this year and had quite a fun time learning jap with my slaves and prince. haha

4) Improve on singing and have an appearance during starbucks gig
YES ACHIEVED!
Weiliang set the goal for me to try and perform during october starbucks but thanks to teresa, i managed to have my first appearance during the february one. and in october, managed to sing some songs that i alr sing until sian alr hahaha. but thanks to weiliang for practicing so hard and encouraging me!

5) Improve drum skills + master cajon
YES ACHIEVED (sort of)!
tinghui said my drums were better during mini con so yay! cajon wise... not bad. at least i know the basics alr thanks to cajon society and beat'abox! :)

6) have a regime and to be discliplined keeping to it.
hmm... this one not really... have been sleeping even later than the previous year... and not really disciplined in studying too...

7) exercise more to lose tummy fats
ehh... i did lose some fats but not cos i exercised. so maybe... half achieved? haha

8) spend more time with loved ones.
okay la half achieved. did spend abit more time with my family than the previous. mainly time wasted because i stay in hostel....

9) have more photography opportunities
not sure if this one achieved. joined the photographic society but never really take part in their activies.

10) be more active and get to know more close friends
YES ACHIEVED!
got to know veronde, celine, siyi the senior bunch. a few really quite close. :)

11) travel to 4 different countries
YES ACHIEVED!
went JB in jan with the band ppl, taiwan in may with teresa and siyi, korea in june for summer school, hongkong in september with mum and JB again in december with family.! 4 countries!

12) Attend summer school
YES ACHIEVED!
Went to Korea University for summer school and had quite a fun time!

Okay end of 2013 resolutions checking. not bad la i must say. about 7/13 achieved. that's quite alot already.

Semester 1 AY 2013/2014

School started 2 days after i came back from Korea. Although the time was pretty tight, the joy of seeing my family and friends was really great. Voices audition started on the first wednesday and I was really excited to see the auditionees as well as my friends! Oh not to mention the 1-for-1 starbucks too.

Then, there was the CAPT Formal dinner. They gave out free mugs for us too.

Some of the more prominent ppl who made my life in CAPT much more wonderful. Oh and our guest-of-honour was S.R Nathan!

Then mid-sem, just before recess week, my mum, sis and I headed to Hong Kong for a short trip. The Tim Ho Wan there really much nicer than Singapore's

Met up with Virina there!

Managed to catch the ending of Triumph to the Skies 2 there and the trend was to notice pilots! haha took photo with the pilots of my plane on the way back to singapore!

One year really no joke. Been through all sorts of obstacles with this amazing comm. finally, we are done to AGM a.k.a handover day. All the unhappiness, let it be gone. All the happiness, let it stay in our memories forever... :)

Went for the annual TVB star awards with my mum who managed to get some VIP tickets. Met Vee there too!

And then, in the blink of an eye... I am 21. Thankful for this bunch of people.. :))))

This week was quite a overwhelming week. It didn't start too well but it ended well. Had supper and games with this group of voices ppl! <3

Celebrated Prof Seow's birthday by appearing at her doorstep at 11pm with starbucks cakes and yam pau! With pretty candles of course!

My lil sis went to china for a week so here's a pic of us sending her off.

October is a month to celebrate! We celebrated porcupine chong and tere's birthday at a jap steamboat restaurant in marina square! Not forgetting minion cupcakes from Temptations Cakes.

Voices Qing Gong Yan! didn't really join the juniors since i had dinner at Owl with the seniors. but we went for KTV after that. tere and i left early in order to catch the train though... 12 ppl in a small Teo Heng KTV room. we really super zai!

No matter how busy, we will always have time to celebrate each other's birthday! celebrated huixian's birthday at liang court before heading for ice cream and sitting by the singapore river watching ppl bungee jump. Huixian wanted to take but none of us dared to take w her... haha

Spend one evening having dinner at Alcove located at NUS UCC with siyi! Not bad la the food.

One weekend, siyi and angella came over to 'study'. but of course, i think i was the only one who studied. mum cooked a feast for them and siyi, being a super garlic lover, finished almost every single bit.....

Met up with tere at vivo city for tea break (to use our TCC card) and supposedly movie but missed it cos of the stupid 196 that refused to come. had dinner at kim gary!

Then, the following wednesday, met up with siyi and tere for dinner at star vista. we settled for a hong kong cafe and they went to eat blackball while i bought koi. they helped me act some funny scenes for my NM project too! it was really funny!!!

The final friday of the sem: woke up early and headed to biz to celebrate min jia's 20th birthday!

Then in the evening, went to tiramisu hero to celebrate yiusi's birthday! really cute cafe. the food's pretty good too.

21st Birthday Wishlist

In no order of preference:

1) Video/Scrapbook
This one's a little special. I always hoped one day that I can have a scrapbook containing pictures and messages by friends from all walks of my life. It's like, marking your life down in a book. Decades down the road, I can look back and see the many different close people I've met in my earlier years, even if we are no longer in touch, I'll still have a memory of you. Of course, who spends so much time on scrapbook right. Nw everything digitalize alr so a video is a good alternative. Then again, this really takes alot effort so I'm not expecting anyone to actually do it. Just saying my piece of mind..haha.

2) Music Production Software

Ok I wanna get like a software so that i can do music editing and stuff. Tinghui actually reconmended Logic Pro but the software manufacturers decided to make the software exclusive to apple users only so... Im looking for software that can be used on Microsoft. Searched online and I found this two with quite good reviews (http://audio-production-software-review.toptenreviews.com/). and the thing is, they have similar specs to Logic Pro! FL studio apparently has better reviews than Ableton though. haha so any kind soul willing to buy the software for me, I'll be most grateful! :)

3) Camera Lens

Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM

I'm currently using a Canon 600D and the 55mm stock lens can be alittle annoying at times when I need to zoom further. And being a stock lens, there's little things it can do. So I'll be most glad if i get a new camera lens. Can be a 135mm or wider lens or can be special effects lens too. :)

4) Keyboard

My current keyboard is 15 years old so Im hoping to get a new one withe more functions (i.e midi, recording etc). Haven really gotten the time to do much research yet but in any case, this is really too ex as a birthday present bah. So it's just here for fun.
