Breko cafe

Long time since I blogged so today I'm gonna reconmend this cafe I went to recently!

The name of this place is called Breko Cafe & Sandwich Bar and It's located at holland village.

Okay so this is how the cafe looks like when you step in. There's a bar counter which serves alcohol and the usual bar stuff. And they have a small little staircase that leads you up to a private corner.

This huge signboard actually remind me of this eatery I went to when I was in Taichung last year.

Okay so this is their menu and you can see they offer a variety of food ranging from pasta to burgers and baked rice. They have quite abit of sides as well. The price range is about $14-20 and the portions are actually filling. I didn't try but I heard their sandwiches are good too!

I ordered their ribeye pasta which is recommended by the chef. I would say this is a pretty good main course.

I requested for my ribeye to be medium rare and it turned out quite good. It was chewy but not to the extent of not being able to bite it apart. the meat was tender and there wasn't much fats . The black pepper sauce on it was mildly spicy -not those really spicy ones that people like me who don't know how to take spicy food would find it a turn off.

As for the aglio olio, I found it abit bland initially but the pasta gives you an after taste that is alittle salty and spicy. The olive oil was really fragrant and it didn't come about as overly oily. The chilli, like the black pepper sauce, was not very spicy till I couldn't take it. There's one thing I like about this dish and that's the cheese they sprinkled on top. They weren't stingy on the amount of cheese and it made the pasta much tastiern

So this would make a good choice for those who can only take mild spicy food and those who like to eat pasta but dislike overly oily ones. This only cost me $20 (w gst)!

Siyi ordered this creamy seafood baked rice which was really good! I loved it more than my own ribeye pasta. The cheese wasn't too salty but it gave the baked rice flavor. They were also generous on the portion of seafood which includes mussels, shrimps and squid. This is one of the best baked rice I've eaten so far and you can get it for just $17 (w gst)! Really worth the money.

For those who like to chill at a bar but can't find good ones in the day, Breko Cafe have an all day long happy hour! Going to a bar will never be just a night event anymore!
