DAY 1
So on 13th night, Siyi and I met at the airport and took Jetstar to taipei. Teresa was supposed to be flying Scoot as well but her flight was cancelled. Siyi and I reached taipei at about 6am (managed to catch sunrise in the plane) and we took a bus to the HSR station before taking the HSR to taichung. From taichung HSR, there was a free shuttle service to the bus stop near our hostel.
After stopping at the wrong stop and some time looking for the place, we finally arrived at WoW Backpackers Hostel. The guy took some time to tell us about the nearby places while getting our room prepared. To our surprise, there were no others staying in the room at the same time as us! So after slacking for awhile, we decided to go downstairs for lunch.
We had lunch at this place called 吴记 before heading back to the hostel. One of the guys at the hostel was really nice to fetched us to 彩虹眷村!
彩虹眷村 is a really colorful place! It's actually just a place filled with graffiti but I really loved the colors there and the words that can be found all around.
Our plans was to head to 高美湿地 but when we reached 清水station, the last bus in had already left. Hence, we settled for some bubble tea before taking a cab back. Do you recognize what brand of bubble tea is this?
While back at the hostel, I took a short nap while siyi went around to take photos of the place. We headed to 逢甲夜市 to eat and shop!
This is my all-time favorite 臭豆腐stall! They are really super good! haha I decided to enjoy this and not shop towards the end whil siyi continue going into shops to take a look. We took a cab back to the hostel at around 12am. Had a race to see who shower faster before sleeping.
DAY 2
We woke up with Teresa in our room at about 930am but fell asleep till about 12nn. Headed out to get our phone cards and some food but many of the shops were closed already. Decided to eat at this 便当place before heading 东海大学.
The walk around 东海大学took the entire afternoon.
We stopped by their in-campus dairy product shop. They have ice-cream branded to their own name!
Chanced upon one of their classrooms so we decided to go in and take a seat.
Walked to their architecture school!
And their chapel!
We took a seat in front of the chapel door and took some photos when.... Teresa's camera cap dropped into the holes between the stairs. We had a hard time trying to get it out but to no avail. Oh well, we left our mark here.
It was then time to go back to 逢甲夜市！We queued for many many different food like 大肠包小肠 ，芝士马铃薯，炒面面包，酥炸大鱿鱼 and shopped around!
My challenge to Teresa: have a try at 臭豆腐！ haha and she really did, with a milkshake on standby.
We were back at the hostel at around 1am where the hostel owner was about to sleep. Had a chat with him as he showed us pictures of their adventures. We took some picture before heading back to our rooms. Showered and washed our clothes! Teresa fell asleep pretty early while siyi followed soon after. I was the only survival at 4am waiting for our clothes to be done in the dryer but fell asleep too.
